The Zhengtun Geyser Scenic Area is situated at the center of the three major scenic areas — the Maling River Gorge, Anlong Zhao Di, and Wanfeng Lake — and lies within the 108-square-kilometer Sloping Hills Karst Vegetation Reserve. It is named after a spring that remains perpetually clear, with water flow that changes in volume according to the Earth’s rotation. The area features a pristine ecological environment, distinctive geological formations, and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, making it a blessed countryside retreat where one can listen to the sounds of nature and feel the spirit of all living things. The geyser scenic area was established in March 2002. Through scientific planning and the restoration of traditional dwellings, it has become a picturesque rural destination ideal for leisure and vacation.

The scenic area includes: the Geyser that signifies divine will, the mysterious and deep Rhinoceros Pool, the amusingly tipsy Shaking Rock, the spiritually enlightening Divine Tree Fortress, the symbol of power known as Heavenly Seal Mountain, the historical site of Camp Hill where one can trace history, and the Wang Family Ancestral Hall that records the history of the Bouyei people. The area also features cultural elements of the Bouyei ethnic group such as the "Grain Bag Square," as well as humanistic landscapes and natural scenery including the Treasure Gourd Pool, waterwheels, fishing ponds, Bouyei-style farmsteads, and the delicious Bouyei dish “Nine-Jar Bowl.”

Zhengtun Town: Located in the eastern part of Xingyi City, about 22 kilometers from the city center, it covers an area of 146.7 square kilometers and governs 3 subdistrict offices and 15 administrative villages, with a population of 25,000. The town is rich in natural resources. Its mineral resources mainly include limestone, dolomite, and quartzite. It is home to the famous Sloping Hills Nature Ecological Reserve, which boasts a diverse array of biological resources, particularly renowned for its Dendrobium and orchids. The area’s wildlife includes nationally protected animals such as pythons, golden eagles, macaques, pangolins, small Indian civets, and Lady Amherst’s pheasants. Plant resources feature precious tree species such as Zanthoxylum avicennae, Toona ciliata, Ormosia hosiei, Lindera communis, and Cinnamomum wilsonii.
