Xingyi National Geopark is a national geopark.

Xingyi National Geopark in Guizhou Province is a geopark themed around karst cone peak landscapes and paleontological fossil sites of the Guizhou Dragon fauna. It includes eight major scenic areas: the Maling River Gorge Scenic Area, West Peak Forest Scenic Area, East Peak Forest Scenic Area, Dingxiang Guizhou Dragon Scenic Area, Wusha Guizhou Dragon Scenic Area, Nidang Stone Forest Area, Pogang Karst Ecological Area, and Wanfeng Lake Scenic Area, covering a total area of 350 square kilometers with a peripheral protected area of 1,000 square kilometers.

Within the entire park, the fossils of the Guizhou Dragon fauna and their sites, along with the two scenic areas of Dingxiang and Wusha, are unique and rare both nationally and across Asia. The Maling River Gorge, Wanfenglin (Ten Thousand Peaks Forest), Pogang Karst Ecological Area, and Nidang Stone Forest represent some of the most typical and extensively continuous cone karst developments in China, featuring the greatest variety of karst landform types. The area enjoys a pleasant climate, abundant resources, and rich, authentic ethnic culture. It boasts well-preserved ancient villages of the Bouyei people such as Nanlong Buyi Ancient Village (Bagua Village), ancient music like “Buyi Eight Tones,” historical residences such as the former home of He Yingqin, cliff inscriptions like the “General Wang Dianlun’s Hometown Cliff Carving,” the Liu Family Manor (Guizhou Ethnic Marriage Customs Museum), the Lutun Stone Archway Cluster, the Wan Tun Han Dynasty Tombs, as well as ancient human cultural sites such as the "Maomao Cave" and "Zhangkou Cave," dubbed the "Xingyi People." Together, these elements form a high-quality, deeply meaningful geopark that integrates natural landscapes, biological fossils, cultural heritage, and ethnic customs—offering significant value for tourism, leisure, and earth science education.
