Xingyi Wantun Tomb Cluster

The Xingyi Wantun Tomb Cluster is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Xingyi Wantun Han Tomb Cluster is located north of Xinqiao Village, Wantun Town, Xingyi City, and dates back to the Eastern Han Dynasty. Within a 2-square-kilometer area spanning Xinqiao, Zhangtun, and Jiajiaba, there are 17 tombs. Except for two tombs whose burial mounds no longer exist, the rest are well-preserved. The tombs are circular, approximately 1.5–2.5 meters in height and 6–15 meters in diameter. From 1975 to 1991, nine tombs were excavated, including both brick-chambered and stone-chambered tombs. Among them, the bronze chariot and horses unearthed from Xingyi Tomb M8 are considered fine artifacts of the Han Dynasty in China.

Wantun Town: Located in the northeastern part of Xingyi City, 24 kilometers from the city center, it covers an area of 179.19 square kilometers and governs 4 sub-district offices and 20 administrative villages, with a total population of 39,000. The town is home to Weishanhu Reservoir, which has a water storage capacity of 13.5 million cubic meters. Provincial Highway 210 and Guanxing Highway run through the area. It is 7 kilometers from Xingyi Railway Station, and all villages have road access. The bronze chariot unearthed from the Han Tomb Cluster here is famous nationwide.
