Sichuan Xinjin Baihetan National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Xinjin Baihetan National Wetland Park was officially approved by the State Forestry Administration in December 2013 to carry out a pilot project as a national wetland park. The planned total area is approximately 588 hectares, divided into five major functional zones: wetland conservation area, wetland restoration and reconstruction area, science education and exhibition area, rational use area, and comprehensive management and service area. Among these, the wetland conservation area covers 6,530 mu, accounting for 74% of the total park area. The entire project is planned to be implemented in two phases. The first phase, with a construction area of over 1,000 mu, serves as the demonstration and exhibition area of the wetland park. Construction began in October 2014, and currently, the wooden boardwalks, bluestone slabs, waterside platforms, and green fields in Demonstration Exhibition Area A have been completed, along with the planting of a batch of aquatic plants. Work on wooden boardwalks and aquatic plant planting in other areas is being accelerated. The second phase, covering an area of about 8,000 mu, is scheduled to commence in full in October 2015 and to be largely completed by the end of 2016. The goal is to develop Baihetan Wetland into a national model site for river–sandbar wetland complexes and suburban national wetland parks.
