A Northern Zhou dynasty stele, designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. Located at Dafoyan in Shanquan Township, Longquanyi District, Chengdu City. Erected in the first year of the reign of Emperor Xiaomin of the Northern Zhou (557 AD). The stele stands 2.24 meters tall and is 1.25 meters wide. The stele’s top is adorned with bas-reliefs of a vermilion bird and four small Buddha statues. The inscription on the stele’s header, carved in relief regular script, reads: “Stele of the Northern Zhou Wen Emperor. By the Grand Commandant, General of Chariots and Cavalry, Yitong Sansi, Grand Defender, Cavalier Attendant-in-Ordinary, and Duke of Jundi County under the Great Zhou—Qiang Dule—who erected Buddhist and Taoist statues for the Wen Emperor. Established in the first year, the cyclical year of Dingchou.” This portion consists of five lines totaling 56 characters. The main body of the inscription, carved in intaglio regular script, spans 40 lines and over 1,400 characters, recounting the achievements of the Wen Emperor Yuwen Tai.
