Bai Gongyan Park

A water park with an artificial lake. Located in Manman Village, Shanquan Township, Longquanyi District, Chengdu. Originally a small irrigation pond that required 100 laborers to maintain each year, hence the name "Bai Gongyan" (Hundred Labor Ponds). After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the dam was widened and heightened, increasing the water surface to 390,000 square meters, with a perennial storage capacity of 2.36 million cubic meters and a maximum capacity of 3.3 million cubic meters. The lake is surrounded by mountains, with gentle slopes in the front and steep ridges at the back. The water depth ranges from 3 to 15 meters, making it ideal for boating and fishing. There is a solitary island in the lake — Luosi Island, covering an area of 37,300 square meters, featuring three pavilions, two fishing spots, and a large sculpture titled “The Luosi Fairy.” The island is covered with dense bamboo groves and planted with flowers such as peach blossoms, osmanthus, and magnolia. Between Luosi Island and the boat dock lies a narrow peninsula planted with over 400 precious Dongting loquat trees. Surrounded by water on three sides, it is known as Loquat Island.

The main attractions of Bai Gongyan Park include Luosi Island, the loquat grove, the lotus pond, and the picnic area. Located about 13 kilometers from downtown Chengdu, the park is shaded by green trees and features a clear lake, earning it the reputation of "Chengdu’s No. 1 Lake."

You can go boating here, or hike the mountain trails nearby. When you're tired, enjoy some barbecue at the local agritainment spots. In spring, you can also admire blooming peach blossoms all around.
