Longquanyi Chuanbei Guild Hall

The Longquanyi Chuanbei Guild Hall is a Chengdu municipal cultural relic protection unit.

The Longquanyi Chuanbei Guild Hall is located in Luodai Town, Longquanyi District. Originally built during the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty, it served as a gathering and liaison hub for Sichuan merchants from northern Sichuan residing in Chengdu. In 1981, the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government designated it as a municipal-level cultural relic protection unit. In December 1998, it was relocated and preserved. Following expert evaluation and approval by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and the Provincial Department of Culture, the Chuanbei Guild Hall was relocated to Luodai Town for off-site protection. The relocated guild hall covers an area of five mu. Decayed components and damaged doors and windows were replaced, and the original painted beams, doors, windows, and wooden panel walls were refinished with vermillion paint and mineral pigments matching the original hues. In 2006, it was listed as a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit.

The Longquanyi Chuanbei Guild Hall is a hometown association hall for migrants from northern Sichuan and provides important physical evidence for the study of Qing Dynasty history and migration culture.

The Chuanbei Guild Hall faces south and consists mainly of the front hall, Wannian Stage, and main hall. The front hall and Wannian Stage are integrated, with a total width of three bays (15 meters) and a depth of three bays (11 meters). The front hall is a brick-and-wood structure with blue brick walls and a rolled shed, flush-gable roof. The Wannian Stage has three levels, stands 13 meters tall, and is made of wood, supported by eight wooden pillars. It features a post-and-lintel frame, carved doors and windows, wooden railings on the second level, corner pillars, a caisson ceiling, a double-eave hip-and-gable roof, gray tubular tiles, and a finial. The main hall is built on a raised platform base, with stone stairways on both sides. It is 23 meters wide (five bays) and 11.86 meters deep (five bays), featuring blue brick walls, latticed windows, hexagonal doors, fan-shaped roof ridges, a wooden post-and-lintel frame, a rolled shed flush-gable roof, and animal-masked water spouts.
