The main structure in the courtyard is the Tiangong Courtyard, also called the Wang Family Mansion. The original owner was Wang Zhigong, a Qing Dynasty official serving as the state judge of Ding County, Hebei. His descendants later relocated to Hongya County and, in the 45th year of the Qianlong reign (1780), constructed a four-courtyard compound at No. 57 Chenghuang Street in Hongya. Professor Ji Fu Zheng, head of the Vernacular Architecture Research Institute at Southwest Jiaotong University, praised it as a “treasure of Hongya.” In 2003, during urban redevelopment in Hongya County, despite appeals from renowned figures such as Ruan Yisan, Feng Jicai, and Ji Fu Zheng to preserve the historic residence, the Wang Family Mansion was still demolished. Its owners carefully numbered and stored the dismantled wooden materials. Three years later, upon learning about this, the Pingle Town government immediately decided to purchase the mansion and relocate it for preservation. Thus, the Wang Family Mansion was moved from over a hundred li away and rebuilt here.
