Chonggua Mountain, anciently known as Gushi Mountain, appears perfectly round from afar like a drum, hence its common name Tonggu Mountain. During the Five Dynasties period, Huang Chonggua, a female scholar-official from Shu, secluded herself in the mountain and was later buried there. To commemorate this remarkable figure, the mountain was renamed Chonggua Mountain. It stands at an elevation of 933 meters, making it the southernmost peak of Huojing Town. The mountain is adorned with flourishing trees, lush bamboo groves, densely shaded woods, verdant slopes, layered tea plantations, blooming wildflowers, birdsong, and light mist — a truly enchanting landscape. The area also boasts numerous historical sites, including the Huang Chonggua Memorial Hall, Chonggua Tomb, Chonggua Pagoda, Fox Fairy Cave, and Leaking Rice Cave, among other cultural relics and scenic spots.
