Jade Rabbit Cave
The name "Zhuxi" (Bamboo Stream) has two origins: one is the local colloquial name Zhuxi Gully; the other is that Zhang Fang, a poet of the Song Dynasty and prefect of Linqiong County, carved the two characters "Zhuxi" in regular script, each five feet in diameter, on the Jicui Rock at Zhuxi Lake. There is an ancient stone bridge over Zhuxi Gully, and on the eastern bank stands a stone stele inscribed with "Zhuxi Bridge" by Zhi Zhifang. Blessed with beautiful mountains and clear waters, secluded valleys, and competing peaks, the area became famous throughout Shu (ancient Sichuan) as a popular one-day excursion spot for literati such as Lu You and Wei Liaoweng of the Song Dynasty. The scenic area mainly consists of three lakes and numerous small islands. Visitors can go boating or take speedboats to explore the lakes, admire the Tang Dynasty Thousand Buddha Cliff Carvings within the scenic zone, or simply sit by the lake enjoying tea and playing chess—truly a sublime experience. Notably, fishing enthusiasts can fish freely in the lakes and take their catch home at no cost. Major attractions in the area include Turtle Island, Snake Island, Jade Rabbit Cave, Fairy Cave, Huita Wall, Yin-Yang Rock, Flower Stone Mountain, Elephant Trunk Mountain, and Cold Valley Lone Island.
