The Tiantai Mountain Scenic Area belongs to the Qionglai Mountain Range and is part of the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries. It is a famous mountain in central Sichuan. The scenic area borders Chengdu as well as Mingshan in Ya’an and Yucheng in Lushan County, and is located at the tail end of the Qionglai Mountain Range. It is a rare box-shaped synclinal mountain in China, with the entire mountain roughly forming the shape of the English letter “N.” It is divided into three terraces (First Terrace: Xiaojiawan–Dengle’an; Second Terrace: Dengle’an–Little Jiuzhai; Third Terrace: above Zhentiantai). Major attractions include: Xiaojiawan, Dengle’an, Little Mill, Monk’s Yamen, Little Jiuzhai, Zhentiantai, Xiushui Mountain Charm, and Eighteen-Li Vanilla Valley, among approximately 30 others.
