Qionglai Xingfu Temple

Qionglai Xingfu Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Xingfu Temple is located in Group 6 of Xingfu Village, Huojing Town, Qionglai City (Ginkgo Flat on Lotus Mountain), initially built during the late Sui and early Tang dynasties (618 AD), and reconstructed during the Ming Dynasty’s Jiajing era (1515 AD). Historically, it was known by names such as “Penglai Annex” and “Stone Temple,” later being renamed Xingfu Temple.

The overall layout of Xingfu Temple is divided into Axis A and Axis B arrangements, with separate entrances through Gate A and Gate B. The rear section connects the two groups of buildings via corridor-style wooden structures. The total construction area is 2,655 square meters, covering a site area of 15,280 square meters. Axis A consists of the Mountain Gate, Three Saints Hall, and Guanyin Hall: the Mountain Gate is a three-story stone structure imitating wood, standing 7.4 meters tall; the Three Saints Hall is a single-eave hanging-roof building, 19 meters wide across five bays; the Guanyin Hall is a double-eave hip-and-gable roof building, 13.8 meters wide across three bays. Axis B includes the Mountain Gate, Dizang Hall, Mahavira Hall, and Seven Buddhas Hall: the Mountain Gate is a hip-and-gable wooden structure, 16.3 meters wide across five bays; the Dizang Hall is a hanging-roof wooden and stone structure, 10.5 meters wide across three bays; the Mahavira Hall is a hanging-roof wooden and stone structure, 14.5 meters wide across three bays; the Seven Buddhas Hall is a double-eave hip-and-gable wooden and stone structure, 21 meters wide across five bays. The existing buildings, apart from parts of the Mahavira Hall and Dizang Hall that retain Ming Dynasty features, are mainly Qing Dynasty constructions.

Geographic Location: Xingfu Village, Huojing Town, Qionglai City, is situated in the western mountainous area, 9 kilometers from the town center.

Industry Distribution: Crop and livestock farming, forestry, labor export, tertiary industry.

II. Population Status

Xingfu Village has 12 villager groups, with a total of 393 households and a population of 1,265 people, including 665 males and 600 females. There are 750 laborers, and 245 people who work away from home year-round. The village has 50 poor households, 1 household of Five Guarantees recipients, 13 low-income households, and 41 households with disabled members.
