Jiang'an Wu Family Residence

The Jiang'an Wu Family Residence is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

The Wu Family Residence is situated at No. 8 Yanxiangzi, Second Community, Jiang'an Town, about 80 meters to the left of Xizheng Street. Constructed in the Qing Dynasty by a gentry family with the surname Wu, it faces west and features an approximately square floor plan, covering an area of 1,427 square meters. The residence consists of a front hall, middle hall, rear hall, wing rooms, side chambers, a garden, and more, organized into six interconnected courtyard units.

The Wu Family Residence is a well-preserved urban dwelling noted for its rigorous layout, lofty architecture, exquisite craftsmanship, intricate carvings, and comprehensive functionality. It serves as a rare cultural heritage site for the study of urban residential architecture and is a key highlight of Jiang'an’s status as a provincial-level historical and cultural city. In 2012, it was designated as a cultural relic protection unit by the provincial government.

Protected Area: The boundary extends east to Yongbi Lane, west to Yanxiangzi, and south and north to the limits of the residence itself.

Construction Control Zone: The protected area is extended 40 meters east and west, and 50 meters south and north.
