Wanchangpo — the Site of Yu Zehong’s Martyrdom — is a classic red tourism destination.

The site where Yu Zehong, Political Commissar of the Sichuan–Yunnan–Guizhou Guerrilla Column of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, was martyred — Wanchangpo — is located in Wanchangpo, Xingfu Village, Dajing Town, Jiang’an County, approximately 5 kilometers from Hongqiao Town, Jiang’an County.

On December 15, 1935, Yu Zehong, Political Commissar of the Sichuan–Yunnan–Guizhou Guerrilla Column of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army, was unfortunately martyred at Wanchangpo in Xingfu Village, Dajing Town. Seventeen members of the guerrilla column, led by Li Qingyun and Liu Fuchu — both members of the CPC Southern Sichuan Special Committee — took refuge in the Liantian Mountains (now Wufeng Village, Fengshou Village, Jiulong Village, and Jilong Village of Dajing Town, Jiang’an County) and the Baizhu Sea Mountainous Area in Renhe Township for over a month. Despite being besieged by enemy forces and facing harsh natural conditions, the guerrilla column relied on local support to continue the struggle, preserving the revolutionary spark for the resurgence of the Red Army guerrilla forces. Local villagers embraced the revolutionary ideals of the Red Army, with dozens joining their ranks.
