The ruins of the Phoenix Temple on Liantian Mountain are situated atop Liantian Mountain in Dajing Town. The original Phoenix Temple (a building from the Ming and Qing dynasties) covered an area of over 10 acres, featuring exquisitely carved beams and painted rafters in the architectural style of southern Sichuan. It is located 10 kilometers from Hongqiao Town in Jiang’an County.

In late 1935, the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army Sichuan-Yunnan-Guizhou Border Guerrilla Column once stationed at the temple and carried out guerrilla warfare in the surrounding area. It was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution’s campaign to “Smash the Four Olds.” Only remnants of walls and ruins remain today.
