Fubaoshan Forest Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Fubaoshan National Forest Park is situated in the southeastern part of Hejiang County. It forms the northern extension of the folds of the Dalou Mountains on the Guizhou Plateau and spans an area of 432 square kilometers. The park is divided into three main scenic areas: Yulanshan, Zi Huai, and Tian Tang Ba, and is famed as the "Sea of Forests."

The Yulanshan Scenic Area is the central part of Fubaoshan National Forest Park, featuring 45,000 mu of forest and 10,000 mu of bamboo groves. It is a rare well-preserved evergreen broadleaf forest belt at low altitudes within the same latitude on Earth, boasting extraordinarily rich biodiversity, making it an exceptional natural gene bank for flora and fauna. The area includes a mother-tree base of Cathaya argyrophylla protected by the provincial forestry department and uniquely stunning Danxia landforms. With forest landscapes as its highlight, the park integrates a wealth of waterfalls, springs, peculiar roots and rocks, steep ridges and valleys, and diverse wildlife — particularly notable for its majestic seas of bamboo.

The Zi Huai Scenic Area is the world's only intact evergreen broadleaf forest belt at the same latitude. It was designated as a provincial-level scenic spot in 1989. The scenery changes with the seasons. In midsummer, the average temperature is more than 5 degrees Celsius lower than outside the mountains, earning it the reputation of a "natural air-conditioner." The region is celebrated for its beautiful mountains, pristine waters, unique rocks, and simple local culture. The primeval forest houses over a thousand plant species, including nationally protected rare trees such as ginkgo, Alsophila spinulosa, Cathaya argyrophylla, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, yew, and liriodendron. There are also hundreds of animal species, such as binturong, clouded leopard, South China tiger, and monkeys frequently spotted here, along with countless birds, flowers, and fish. Experts have praised it as a gene bank for plants and animals.

The Tian Tang Ba Scenic Area features Danxia landforms, where red rocks contrast strikingly with green forests. The area is characterized mainly by waterfalls, streams, peculiar rocks, and dense vegetation. Whether it’s undulating mountain ranges, crisscrossing streams, ancient trees in deep mountains, or cascading waterfalls, the diverse and captivating scenery offers something for every visitor.
