Baisha Old Street is relatively well-preserved, with over 80% of its Ming and Qing dynasty ancient architecture still intact. It possesses authenticity and originality, serving as a tangible witness to the riverside towns and buildings of the Ming and Qing periods along the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and carries rich, regionally distinctive historical information from the Ming and Qing eras in the political, economic, social, and cultural spheres.

Baisha Town: Baisha Town is located in the northwest of Hejiang County, about 20 kilometers from the county seat. It borders Wanglong Town to the east, Jiaotan Township to the west, Canbao Township to the north, and faces Daqiao Town across the river to the south. Some villages and communities also adjoin Taifu Town of Luxian County and Zhanggu Township of Yongchuan. The Yangtze River flows through the town for 5 kilometers. Baisha Town has a long history and culture and is also known as Shangbaisha, boasting a history of over 1,600 years. It is one of the four ancient towns of Hejiang and earned its name by being located on the riverbank with white sandbars nearby.
