Introduction to Bao Feng Mountain in Deyang — Located within Panlong Town of Luojiang County, it gets its name from the Buddhist temple, Feng’an. Bao Feng Mountain Forest Park covers a total area of 3.8 square kilometers, with a built-up area of over 2,000 square meters. It currently boasts more than 1,300 acres of dense pine and cypress forests, which are thriving and hold high development and utilization value. Legend has it that Feng’an Temple was first built in the 20th year of the Zhen Guan era during the Tang Dynasty (646 AD). In the 15th year of the Tian Bao era (756 AD), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, Li Longji, hid Yang Guifei in Feng’an Temple to escape the An Lushan Rebellion. The former “Niángniang Hall” in the temple enshrined an image of Yang Taizhen, and a tall, straight millennium-old cypress tree planted by Yang Guifei still stands in front of the hall. The temple complex consists of six courtyards in a traditional quadrangle layout, facing the Kai River to the east and surrounded by high mountains to the south, west, and north. The environment is serene and shaded by lush greenery. The halls are decorated in resplendent gold and crimson, and a Burmese jade Buddha is enshrined in the Mahavira Hall, where incense burns continuously.

Established as Panlong Township in 1952, it was restructured as a commune in 1958, reverted to a township in 1984, and became a town in 1995.
