At the entrance to the “Spring Breeze Ten Miles” scenic area lies Poetry Avenue. To the left are eight uniquely designed pillars, which we call the Eight-Tone Pillars. Each pillar is engraved with exquisite patterns, and between every two pillars hangs a stone inscribed with timeless classic verses passed down through the ages. Now look at the eight pillars on the right—they feature beautiful passages from the ancient Chinese poetry collection 《The Book of Songs (Shijing)》 specifically the renowned piece “Guan Ju (Cooing and Wooing).” This reflects how poetry originates from the people and is created by the people. When you look up, you’ll notice that the streetlamps on both sides have distinctive designs. Indeed, they are not ordinary lighting fixtures. Instead, they are energy-saving lights powered by wind and solar energy. Each lamp consists of 49 small LED bulbs. Every evening at seven o’clock, the stored electricity generated from wind and solar power automatically illuminates them. Each year, this saves the town around 200,000 yuan in electricity costs. These solar- and wind-powered energy-saving lamps are a rare sight across all tourist attractions in Sichuan. Looking ahead, the farmhouses lining the avenue all share a unified design—white walls and black-tiled roofs. The walls are adorned with elegant verses and finely painted murals, showcasing distinctive characteristics of western Sichuan culture. They add an artistic and cultural atmosphere to the tranquil and beautiful pastoral scenery, while also highlighting the charm of Luojiang’s mural art, contributing a striking highlight to the development of our new socialist countryside.
