The exact founding date of Lingxian Temple is unknown. It underwent renovation in the seventh year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1742). Due to the faded inscriptions on the steles, the details of the renovation remain unclear. The steles refer to the temple as the Lingze King Temple, which indicates that “Lingxian Temple” is a common name or one used after the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. The temple has a single-courtyard layout, facing south, with its central axis featuring a mountain gate and the main hall. On both sides, there are side rooms, corridor rooms, and wing halls, all arranged symmetrically along the east–west axis.

The main hall is three bays wide and six rafters deep, featuring a single-eave hanging gable roof. Its eave columns show a distinct taper, and the column tops use angled brackets. The bracket sets are connected with through-tenons. Although not overly tall, the structure is robust, using stable bracket arms and through-brackets that project halfway, with a roof pitch ratio of about 1:3.5—these are all typical features of Yuan Dynasty architecture.
