Longfeng Ancient Town is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Longfeng Ancient Town Scenic Area is located in Longfeng Town, Chuanshan District, Suining City, Sichuan Province, covering a total area of approximately 148.22 hectares. The development of the scenic area began in late 2009. Relying on its natural ecological landscape and centuries-old cultural foundation, it draws on the cultural narrative of the ancient Han Dynasty’s Miao Zhuang King City — "a thousand-year-old Xingning ancient capital, an eternal love story of Longfeng, a beautiful legend of Miao Shan, and a sacred land of Guanyin for good fortune" — and brings to life the town’s character of "ease, harmony, festivity, and blessing." It is devoted to becoming a blessed prayer destination for the “Hometown of Chinese Guanyin Culture,” with Guanyin culture as the central theme of the town’s tourism. In December 2011, it scored highly in the provincial evaluation for national 4A-level scenic area status and passed the national evaluation in January 2012, becoming Suining’s first national 4A-level distinctive ancient town scenic spot. Viewed from its terrain, Longfeng Town resembles a phoenix, cradled by the Fu River that flows eastward in a winding path — thus its name.

The overall planned area of the Longfeng Ancient Town Scenic Area is about 2 square kilometers, with the first phase covering 0.4 square kilometers and the second phase 1.6 square kilometers. The first-phase planning was done by Chengdu University of Technology, consisting of four functional zones: the Cultural Experience Zone, Leisure & Culture Zone, Characteristic Commercial Zone, and Riverside Scenic Zone. The first phase has been completed and opened to the public. It has already attained national 4A-level tourist attraction status, attracting over 100 businesses in food & beverage, tea culture, tourist souvenirs, and entertainment, forming a basic reception capacity. The next step will be to introduce high-end, influential premium formats both within and outside the urban area to fully satisfy the six essential elements of tourism: “food, accommodation, transportation, sightseeing, shopping, and entertainment.” Meanwhile, the planning for the second phase is nearing completion, with the entire scenic area set to further explore the roots of Guanyin culture under the brand of the “Hometown of Chinese Guanyin Culture,” complete the Guanyin cultural narrative, and build a nationally renowned historical and cultural ancient town.
