After a long workday over the weekend, escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a refreshing one-day mountain hiking trip to the suburbs. Reconnect with nature, get some exercise, and relieve stress. The “Dragon Boat Stone Trail” in Neihu features a gentle and easy path, as well as a popular IG photo spot where you can take breathtaking photos that look like you’re on the edge of a cliff—truly eye-catching.

“Dragon Boat Rock” is one of the former Eight Scenic Spots of Neihu. It is located along the ridge of the Kaiyan Mountain branch of the Wuzhi Mountain range. From a distance, it looks like a quartz sandstone boat over ten meters long, docked on the mountainside. Many people lie on this rock and use the angle to take photos that look like they’re on a 90-degree steep cliff—but in reality, this approximately 45-degree sloped rock face is quite dangerous.

The Dragon Boat Stone Trail has three branch routes: the Bishan Road branch, the Five Lucky Gods Temple branch, and the Kaiyan Mountain branch. Following the Bishan Road branch to a fork in the road, you’ll see an old Tudi Gong (Earth God) temple, which is the junction of the other two branches leading to Kaiyan Mountain and the Five Lucky Gods Temple. The so-called “Stone Boat,” Dragon Boat Rock, is located at the end of the Kaiyan Mountain branch.
