Königssee, located at the southeastern tip of Bavaria in Germany, borders the border town of Berchtesgaden between Germany and Austria, and lies within the German Alps south of Salzburg, Austria. With its emerald-green, crystal-clear waters, it is a very famous attraction in Germany.

Königssee was formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Königssee is known for its clear waters and is considered the cleanest and most beautiful lake in Germany. For this reason, since 1909 only electric boats, rowboats, and pedal boats have been allowed on the lake.
