Qilong Character Treasury Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Nanchong City.

Qilong Character Treasury Pagoda is located in Bubaqiao Village, Qilong Township, Peng’an County, and was built in the 42nd year of the Wanli era during the Ming Dynasty (1614). The inscription on the pagoda states “Erected by the monks of this temple,” revealing that it was built by the monks of a nearby temple at the time. Local villagers recall that the temple here was known as the “Guanyin Hall of Wayan Temple.” The temple was built along the mountain slope, boasted a massive scale, housed dozens of monks, and encompassed an entire valley of paddy fields downhill, all of which were temple properties. In its heyday, the temple enjoyed flourishing incense offerings. After the liberation, worship declined, and the temple gradually fell into disrepair, being completely demolished by the 1970s. Only this stone pagoda beside the former temple site still stands today. On August 24, 1988, the People’s Government of Peng’an County designated it as a cultural relic protection unit. In June 2006, it was announced as part of the second batch of municipal-level cultural relic protection units.

Qilong Township is situated in the hilly northern region of Peng’an County, 22 kilometers from the county seat, with the Yibei Highway passing through it. The township covers a total area of 17 square kilometers, with a total cultivated land area of 9,892 mu.
