Qianlu is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Qianlu (Former Residence of Chen Baoyi)

Chen Baoyi was from Jinping Town, present-day Peng’an County. He studied at Shunqing United Middle School, where Zhang Lan was a teacher, alongside classmates such as Zhu De and Yang Sen. In 1928, he returned to his hometown and built a garden-style building modeled after Japanese architectural styles, naming it “Qianlu.” The main structure is made of brick and wood, with the front courtyard constructed in traditional Chinese wooden style. It originally had a garden and rockery, which were later destroyed.

Protected Area: East boundary is the residential buildings to the left of the main building; south boundary reaches West Street; west and north boundaries extend 20 meters outward from the main building.

Construction Control Zone: East extends to the original river channel to the left of the residential area; west extends to the site of the former West Gate; north extends 30 meters north of the main building.

Chen Baoyi (1887–1950)

Native of Jinping, present-day Peng’an. He was a classmate of Zhu De and Yang Sen at Shunqing United Middle School, where Zhang Lan was a teacher. In 1902, he studied at Meiji University in Japan and soon joined the Tongmenghui (Chinese Revolutionary Alliance). After the Xinhai Revolution, he was appointed as a military special commissioner by Sun Yat-sen and served as a member of the Second Sichuan Provincial Assembly. In 1924, he became the head of the Provincial Civil Affairs Department, later serving as the director of the Militia Bureau. He subsequently held positions such as acting head of the Wanzhou Commercial Port Bureau and head of the Yichang Opium Suppression Inspection Office. Jinping Town: In 2019, Lianglu Township and Changliang Township were abolished, and their administrative areas were incorporated into Jinping Town. The People’s Government of Jinping Town is located at No. 58 Neixi Street.

Jinping Town is located at the western gateway of Peng’an County, facing the county seat across the river. It serves as a key transportation hub and an important distribution center for goods in western Peng’an. The town covers a total area of 37.1 square kilometers, with jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages, 139 production teams, one neighborhood committee, and a total population of 25,399 (including 8,500 non-agricultural residents).
