Jintian Temple

Jintian Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Peng’an County.

Jintian Temple (county-level)

Originally named Jinshan Temple, it was first built in the first year of the Chenghua era of the Ming Dynasty (1465) and rebuilt in the 60th year of the Kangxi reign. According to the commemorative stele in front of the temple, local villagers had been conducting Buddhist activities here since the Song Dynasty. Later, members of the He family initiated donations to build the temple. The original layout featured a double-courtyard quadrangle, and the rear courtyard and main hall are well-preserved to this day, featuring a plain stone base, a single-eave Xieshan-style roof, and a post-and-lintel timber frame. The main hall is five bays wide (21 meters) and 8.5 meters deep. After the reconstruction during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, the roof was changed to a hanging-gable style.
