Thousand Buddha Cliff Rock Carvings (County-level) The Thousand Buddha Cliff Rock Carvings are located on Qianfozhai Mountain in Luojia Town, about 35 kilometers southeast of Peng’an County. The carvings were first created during the Tang Dynasty, with additional ones added during the Song, Ming, Yuan, and Qing Dynasties. The Thousand Buddha Niche is 5.5 meters high and 4.2 meters wide, featuring 1,125 statues of various sizes, each approximately 11 centimeters high and 7 centimeters wide. The Compassionate Light Niche is 2 meters high, 3 meters wide, and 1.3 meters deep, situated 0.8 meters above the ground surface. Inside this niche, three statues are carved: Manjushri, Guanyin, and Samantabhadra. The niche has an eaves-style roof, adorned with exquisitely carved images such as two dragons playing with a pearl and a peacock spreading its tail.
