Lixi refers to Lixi Town in Peng’an County. During the Tongzhi era of the Qing Dynasty (1862–1874), three stone arch bridges — the Big Arch Bridge, the Grain Bridge, and the Radish Bridge — were built over three streams. Each bridge was equipped with covered walkways. These provided rest, shade, and shelter from rain for travelers, hence the name “covered bridge.”

Lixi Town: In 2019, Sanba Township was abolished, and its administrative area was incorporated into Lixi Town. The People’s Government of Lixi Town is located at No. 4 Yuwang Street.

Lixi Town is located in the central part of Peng’an County, southwest of the county seat, and features a shallow hilly landscape. The town government is situated in Lixi Market, which is 10 kilometers as the crow flies and 20 kilometers by road from the county seat, 17 kilometers from the train station, and within 40 kilometers of Nanchong City, Nanchong East Railway Station, the passenger transport station, and Gaoping Airport.
