The Confucius Temple was first built in the early Yuan Dynasty. During the mid-Ming Dynasty, it was relocated to the northern corner of the city. In the 34th year of the Wanli era (1606), it was moved back to its original site. It underwent two major renovations during the Tianqi era and the 8th year of the Chongzhen era. The current structure is the result of the final renovation in the 7th year of the Daoguang era of the Qing Dynasty (1827), with the preserved architectural area covering 3,800 square meters.
