Dragon God Shrine The Dragon God Shrine was also built by Yao Ying, a renowned patriotic scholar from Tongcheng during the Opium War period and then magistrate of Pengzhou, in the 27th year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1847), and remains well-preserved. Nearby stands a two-story wooden building reconstructed in the 16th year of the Republic of China (1927), as well as a Qing Dynasty-style courtyard house at the back, both of which are also intact. The Dragon God Shrine is composed of a front hall, main hall, side chambers on the left and right, a scripture depository, and a rear courtyard, covering a construction area of 1,984 square meters.
