Guangyuan Museum

Guangyuan Museum is a post-Wenchuan earthquake reconstruction project and the first comprehensive history museum in Guangyuan. With a construction area of 7,072 square meters and an exhibition area of approximately 5,000 square meters, it has been open to the public free of charge since May 2015. Established in April 2012, the museum is a fully funded public institution directly under the Guangyuan Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press and Publication. It has an approved staffing quota of 13 positions, with 12 currently filled. Its primary functions include managing the free admission policy of Guangyuan Museum; conducting cultural relics surveys, protection, archaeology, and research across the city; organizing the citywide survey of movable cultural relics; providing professional guidance to county (district) cultural relics work; collecting and preserving local historical relics and natural specimens from Guangyuan; and organizing exhibitions, public education, and cultural exchanges on historical, artistic, and natural themes using its collection of cultural relics and specimens.
