Shuangzhutang Memorial Archway

Shuangzhutang Memorial Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Shuangzhutang Memorial Archway is a municipal or county-level protected heritage site, located in Shuangzhu Village, Yuejia Town, facing east. Constructed of stone, it features four pillars and three bays, with reinforcing columns at the front and back of the pillars. This three-story, memorial archway-style structure stands 7.9 meters high, 6.3 meters wide, and 2.5 meters thick. It is carved with ninety-two figures and floral designs, as well as forty-three poems, lyrics, and couplets, and includes two stone tablet reliefs. The top features niches inscribed with the three characters “Shuang Zhutang” (双竹堂). Standing 1.5 meters in front of the archway on either side are stone lions atop Sumeru pedestals, each standing 1.9 meters tall, with pedestals measuring 2 meters in length and 0.7 meters in width. The archway is designated as a municipal or county-level protected heritage site. It is grand in scale, with exquisitely detailed carvings, exceptional craftsmanship, rich content, skilled execution, rigorous architectural structure, and high-quality stone materials. To this day, it remains well-preserved and serves as a landmark structure in Yuejia Town, providing reliable physical evidence for the study of stone-carved memorial archways.
