The 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics will officially kick off on February 9th at PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, South Korea. After years of preparation, athletes from various countries are finally set to take the stage in this international winter sports event ! The Taipei Branch of the Korea Tourism Organization will launch a series of events starting January 26th (Friday), beginning with the 【Exchange Traditional Market Travel Kits for E-Tickets During Spring Kickoff】 event at KOREA PLAZA in Taipei for travelers planning to visit Korea. On February 9th (Friday), the opening day of the Olympics, also at KOREA PLAZA, a special lecture will be held combining the celebration of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and the festive atmosphere of Lunar New Year ! Everyone is welcome to join us !

Event 1: PyeongChang Winter Olympics D-14 Spring Kickoff — Exchange E-Tickets for Traditional Market Travel Kits

Traditional markets represent the food culture of different regions, and Korea has many distinctive traditional markets worth visiting ! The traditional market travel kit will include a drawstring bag, a blank transportation card, a skiing guidebook, card holders, and printed traditional market guides available on-site, aiming to provide visitors with a more comfortable and convenient experience in Korea. To celebrate the opening of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, participants exchanging kits on that day can enter a lucky draw for additional prizes, with opportunities to win premium gifts such as commemorative coins from the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics !

Event 2: Celebrating the Successful Opening of PyeongChang & Lunar New Year Culture Lecture

For those who can’t make it to Korea to attend PyeongChang Winter Olympics-related events, we offer another way to support the games. On the opening day, our editors who have visited PyeongChang will share insights about the Winter Olympics. Let’s show our care and support for this most important winter sporting event through action ! On the day of the lecture, we’ve also prepared an engaging Lunar New Year culture talk. Want to know how to celebrate Korean Lunar New Year? What traditional dishes must be eaten? What’s the proper way to offer New Year greetings? Let Instructor Lee Shuying from the Taipei Sejong Academy tell you all about Korean Lunar New Year traditions. At the end of the lecture, we’ll also draw and give away a variety of PyeongChang Winter Olympics souvenirs to attendees !
