The 2018 Winter Olympics were held in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, South Korea. For most Taiwanese travelers, Pyeongchang may still be somewhat unfamiliar. In the past, Pyeongchang had applied to host the Winter Olympics twice. In 2011, its third bid was successful, making it the main venue for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Over the years, Pyeongchang has been preparing for this grand Olympic event. Visiting the main competition venues, despite the extremely cold weather, offers a breathtaking view of the entire Olympic site and snowy landscape under the bright winter sun. The magnificent snowy mountain scenery unfolds before your eyes. The Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium is also the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies.

As North Korean leader Kim Jong-un mentioned in his New Year's address that North Korea would send a delegation to the Games and congratulate the successful hosting of the Winter Olympics, with further reports suggesting he might even attend the opening ceremony in person, this Winter Olympics is bound to attract global attention and holds special historical significance.
