Era: Ming and Qing Dynasties

Address: Beiliang Village, Gucheng Town, 30 kilometers northwest of Wuxiang County, Changzhi City

The overall layout of Beilianghou Fuyuan Temple faces south and is situated to the north. The extant structures include the Buddha Hall, East Corridor, and West Side Hall, covering a total area of 130.62 square meters.

The Buddha Hall building was constructed in the ninth year of the Zhengtong era of the Ming Dynasty (1444). It is a two-story structure built on a high platform. The front porch has been destroyed. The ground floor is relatively small, with three bays in width and one bay in depth. The central bay features a door, while the side bays have windows. The second floor is built on the earthen platform and is larger than the ground floor in plan. The front follows the columns and walls of the lower level, featuring three bays in width and four rafters in depth.

There is a Northern Wei Dynasty Buddha statue in the temple, but its head is missing.

On October 7, 2019, Fuyuan Temple was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Beiliang Village: General Overview of Beiliang Village

Beiliang Village in Gucheng Town is located in the northern part of Gucheng Town, 5 kilometers from the town government. The village has a total of 153 households, with a population of 542. There are 196 laborers, including 93 working outside the village. The village has 28 Party members, including 2 female members. The total area of the village is 7.6 square kilometers, with 1,000 mu of arable land and 6,000 mu of barren hills. The per capita arable land is approximately 1.8 mu. The main crops include corn, sorghum, and millet. Among these, corn covers 823 mu, accounting for 83.2% of the arable land.
