Yucheng Village

Yucheng Village: In the late Ming Dynasty, amid social unrest, when Zhang Xianzhong entered Sichuan, local farmers built this stronghold to take refuge from the chaos. A fish pond was constructed within the village. Legend has it that the stronghold withstood a three-year siege without falling. Later, the villagers threw several large fish out of the village to demonstrate that they had ample food supplies, prompting the rebels to withdraw. Hence the name. The ruins remain today. The stronghold stands at an altitude of 800 meters, located at the junction of Kongshan, Daya, and Hongding villages, eight kilometers from the town center. It is also known as Yucheng Village.
