Worship Platform

Built atop Niaojue Mountain. The pavilions, towers, and corridors are exquisitely crafted. The Mosuo people, who hold women in high esteem, call Lugu Lake “Xienami” (Mother Lake) and revere the Goddess Gemu. Below the Worship Platform, the vast blue waters of Mother Lake stretch out, while Gemu Goddess Mountain rises abruptly from the lake, towering into the clouds.

During the Mosuo “Sea Circumambulation Festival” and “Mountain Circumambulation Festival,” Mosuo families come here in their entirety to worship the Mother Lake and the sacred mountain. As a scenic spot, the Worship Platform offers a stunning view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
