Egret Park is located by the Sanya River, where several tall coconut trees stretch their fronds toward the water, as if engaging in an intimate conversation with the mangrove forests growing along the riverbanks. Sitting in the small pavilion by the river, you can vividly sense the stark contrast between the hustle and bustle on the opposite bank and the tranquility within the park. Aside from offering views of the Sanya River, there is also an Egret Lake situated right in the middle of the park, serving as a paradise for egrets. Egrets can be seen everywhere—along the lakeshore and in the middle of the lake. Due to its distance from residential areas, the park remains lightly visited. Perhaps for this very reason, egrets roam leisurely along the lakeside. On a bright spring day, sitting on the lawn in the park and gazing at the distant green hills and the occasional egrets dancing in the sky, you can’t help but feel the essence of spring. The small bridge over Egret Lake and the bamboo groves planted by the water will even remind you of the Jiangnan region. Transportation: Located in the Dadonghai area, next to the library on Fenghuang Road. You can take the Xinguo Line double-decker sightseeing bus (the upper deck is open-air, while the lower deck is air-conditioned). Route: Yalong Bay – Dadonghai – Sanya Bay – Xidao Pier – Tianya Haijiao. Buses run every half hour; the first bus departs from Yalong Bay at 7:00 AM, and the last bus returns from Tianya Haijiao around 7:00 PM. The journey takes about 70 minutes at a sightseeing pace, with a flat fare of 10 RMB (charged by section).
