The "Fortune Stone," also known as the "South Sky Column," stands majestically between the sea and the sky, reaching toward the heavens and exuding an aura of wealth and masculinity. Its rocky landscape is featured on the reverse side of the old version (fourth series) of China’s two-yuan banknote. Legend has it that the "Fortune Stone" possesses a mystical power to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. It is said that in the late 1970s, a wealthy overseas Chinese businessman, troubled by his poor health and a sluggish market, sought remedies in famous mountains and ancient temples and tried both Chinese and Western medicines to no avail. Back in his hometown of Guangdong for recuperation, he visited Sanya accompanied by a friend. Ticket Price

1. Peak season: Individual visitors 101 RMB, travel agency groups 101 RMB, discounted tickets 50 RMB.

2. Off-peak season: Individual visitors 85 RMB, travel agency groups 85 RMB, discounted tickets 45 RMB (including a government price adjustment fund of 5 RMB).

Preferential Policies

1. Students, seniors aged 60–69, people with disabilities (with valid ID), and children between 1.2–1.4 meters tall may purchase tickets at 50 RMB (peak season) or 45 RMB (off-peak season) for entry.

2. Active-duty military personnel, revolutionary disabled veterans, retired military personnel, and seniors aged 70 and above (inclusive) (with valid ID), as well as children under 1.2 meters tall, may enter free of charge. Other individuals eligible for free admission shall follow the relevant regulations of the state and provincial/municipal authorities.

Tips

1. Generally, the peak season refers to the period from October 1 to April 30 each year, while the off-peak season refers to the period from May 1 to September 30 each year.

2. Every year on June 1, the scenic area designates a Free Admission Day. Visitors holding valid local ID (household registration booklet or ID card) may enter free of charge.

Best Time to Visit

Winter — During this time, Sanya enjoys a comfortable climate, making it a great destination to escape the cold. Without the summer heat and avoiding the typhoon season, winter is the most ideal time to visit.
