Statue of Huang Daopo

Huang Daopo was a renowned cotton textile expert and technological innovator from the late Song to early Yuan Dynasty. Born into poverty, she fled her feudal family in her youth and ended up in Yazhou (now Hainan Island). She made a Taoist temple her home, laboring and living among the Li ethnic women, where she learned from them how to use cotton processing tools and weave Yazhou quilts. Due to her role in spreading advanced textile technologies and promoting sophisticated weaving tools, she was deeply respected by the people. In the Qing Dynasty, she was honored as the founding ancestor of the textile industry.

Ticket Price

1. Peak Season: Individual visitors 95 RMB, discounted ticket 50 RMB.

2. Off-Peak Season: Individual visitors 80 RMB, discounted ticket 50 RMB, including a government price adjustment fund of 5 RMB.

Preferential Policies

1. Students, seniors aged 60–69, people with disabilities (with valid ID), and children between 1.2–1.4 meters tall can purchase tickets for 50 RMB during both peak and off-peak seasons.

2. Active-duty military personnel, revolutionary disabled veterans, retired military personnel, and seniors aged 70 and above (inclusive), as well as children under 1.2 meters tall, may enter free of charge. Other individuals eligible for free admission shall follow the regulations of the state, province, and municipality.

Tips

1. Generally, the peak season refers to the period from October 1 to April 30 each year, while the off-peak season refers to the period from May 1 to September 30 each year.

2. June 1 of each year is designated as the scenic area’s Free Admission Day. Visitors holding valid provincial ID (household registration booklet or ID card) can enter free of charge.
