Statue of Hu Quan

Hu Quan, a native of Luling Prefecture in Jiangxi (present-day Ji’an, Jiangxi), was a Vice Minister of War during the Southern Song Dynasty. He was a renowned statesman, literary figure, and patriotic official. When the Jin army crossed the Yangtze River to attack the south, he strongly advocated for resistance and recruited volunteer soldiers to defend his hometown. Because he, like Zhao Ding, vehemently opposed Qin Hui’s peace negotiations with the Jin and even submitted a memorial to the emperor demanding Qin Hui’s execution, he was instigated by Qin Hui to be demoted repeatedly by Emperor Gaozong of Song, eventually being exiled to Jiyang Jun (present-day Yazhou District, Sanya). After Qin Hui’s death, Hu Quan was allowed to return north. He was honored as one of the “Five Worthies” at Haikou’s Five Officials Temple and is remembered by later generations.

Ticket Price

1. Peak Season: Individual visitors 95 RMB, discounted ticket 50 RMB.

2. Off-Season: Individual visitors 80 RMB, discounted ticket 50 RMB (including a 5 RMB government price adjustment fund).

Discount Policies

1. Students, seniors aged 60–69, people with disabilities (with valid ID), and children between 1.2 m and 1.4 m tall may purchase tickets for 50 RMB during both peak and off seasons.

2. Active-duty military personnel, revolutionary disabled veterans, retired military personnel, and seniors aged 70 and above (inclusive) (with valid ID), as well as children under 1.2 m tall, may enter free of charge. Other individuals eligible for free admission shall follow relevant national, provincial, and municipal regulations.

Tips

1. Generally, the peak season refers to the period from October 1 to April 30 each year, while the off-season refers to the period from May 1 to September 30 each year.

2. June 1 of each year is designated as the scenic area’s Free Admission Day. Visitors with valid local ID (household registration book or ID card) may enter free of charge.
