Nanshi Mosque is a cultural tourism attraction.

Nanshi Mosque is located in the center of Huixin Village, Tianya District, Sanya City. It is the first mosque (ruins) in ancient Yazhou, originally built during the Southern Song Dynasty and has a history of over 900 years. It serves as a historical testament to the development of Muslims in Sanya. In 1956, the mosque was listed as a national key mosque by the China Islamic Association, but it was severely damaged during the Cultural Revolution and was rebuilt in 1978.

The reconstruction project of Nanshi Mosque broke ground in December 2013. By December 2016, the main structure of the mosque, covering a construction area of over 4,450 square meters and capable of accommodating nearly 3,200 people at the same time, had been completed. The newly built main structure of Sanya Nanshi Mosque is a magnificent, structurally rigorous, well-equipped, and fully functional mosque that provides an elegant and comfortable environment for Muslim brothers and sisters from home and abroad. It serves as a bridge of friendship for Muslims in Sanya and those around the world, adds a significant touch to the building of a beautiful Sanya, and has become another new ethnic landmark in the city.
