Life Well

Life Well is a spring located in the northern part of Wuzhizhou Island. Since freshwater resources have always been precious for the islanders, and this well is one of the few on the nearby islands that produces freshwater naturally, locals call it the "Life Well."

Legend has it that there was once a fishing family who made a living by going out to sea. One day, they were suddenly caught in a typhoon, and the father and his two sons fell into the water. Clinging to a wooden plank, they struggled for several days. When they were exhausted from hunger and thirst, they drifted ashore on Wuzhizhou Island. Suddenly, they spotted a small puddle not far from the beach, which saved their lives. Later, they settled on the island and dug a well at the site of the puddle, naming it the "Life Well." It was made available for fishermen passing through on their sea voyages and has been in use ever since.
