Zhao Ding, a Southern Song Dynasty prime minister who resisted the Jin invaders, was from Shanxi and the mentor of Yue Fei. It was largely thanks to his careful mentorship that the Yue Family Army rose to prominence. In this statue, his hair is disheveled, his eyes filled with sorrow and indignation, his left hand clenched into a fist, and his right palm slapping the table—his anguish and righteous fervor are vividly portrayed. In 1138, under military pressure from the Jin, many in the Southern Song court advocated ceding territory for peace, but Zhao Ding firmly opposed the surrenderist actions led by Qin Hui, earning Qin’s resentment. After Qin Hui became prime minister, he carried out vicious reprisals against Zhao Ding, fabricating various charges to demote him repeatedly, eventually exiling him to Jiyang Jun (present-day Sanya). Even in Jiyang Jun, Qin Hui continued to plot against him. To avoid implicating his family and friends, Zhao Ding composed his own epitaph: “Riding the tail of the Winnowing Basket, I return to the heavens; my spirit becomes mountains and rivers to strengthen the dynasty,” and then passed away. He was buried in Jiuzhou Village, Dongfang County (today's location). In Chinese history, Zhao Ding was a tragic figure, but his unyielding righteousness has been celebrated by later generations.

Ticket Price

1. Peak Season: Individual visitors 95 RMB, discounted tickets 50 RMB.

2. Off-Peak Season: Individual visitors 80 RMB, discounted tickets 50 RMB (including a government price adjustment fund of 5 RMB).

Discount Policies

1. Students, seniors aged 60–69, people with disabilities (with valid ID), and children between 1.2 m and 1.4 m tall may purchase tickets for 50 RMB (peak and off-peak seasons).

2. Active-duty military personnel, revolutionary disabled veterans, retired military personnel, seniors aged 70 and above (inclusive), and children under 1.2 m tall may enter free of charge. Other individuals eligible for free entry shall follow relevant national, provincial, and municipal regulations.

Tips

1. Generally, the peak season refers to the period from October 1 to April 30 each year, while the off-peak season refers to the period from May 1 to September 30 each year.

2. Every June 1 is designated as a Free Admission Day at the scenic area. Visitors with valid local ID (household registration book or ID card) may enter free of charge.
