Yanfeng People's Revolutionary Memorial Park is a classic red tourism destination.

Yanfeng People's Revolutionary Memorial Park is a patriotic education base in Haikou City, located on the northern slope of Liushui, 3 kilometers northwest of Yanfeng Market in Melan District, Haikou. It is managed by the Civil Affairs Bureau of Meilan District, Haikou.

Yanfeng People's Revolutionary Memorial Park was built in January 1996 with donations totaling over 900,000 yuan from social contributors. The park covers an area of 9.8 mu and has a square layout. The horizontal plaque above the main gate reads “Yanfeng People's Revolutionary Memorial Park” in gold letters, flanked by walls with wave-like contours and glazed tile surfaces. Upon entering the gate, there is a concrete path leading directly to the statue, the inscription wall gallery, and the memorial hall. On both sides of the path are two octagonal pavilions, each 3 meters in diameter and 5 meters high. At the center of the park stands three busts — those of Xu Chengzhang, Xu Tianbing, and Wu Kezhi. The three busts are arranged in a row, measuring 4 meters long and 1 meter high, resting on a base that is 4.5 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 2.5 meters high. The front of the base is inscribed with the names “Martyr Xu Chengzhang,” “Martyr Xu Tianbing,” and “General Wu Kezhi.” On either side of the statues are wall galleries, each 12 meters long and 3.5 meters high, engraved with the names of 542 revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the democratic revolution in Yanfeng. A pine tree is planted beside each statue, symbolizing the undying spirit of the martyrs. Behind the statues lies the memorial hall, which is 17 meters long, 7 meters wide, and 7 meters high. The walls inside feature a brief history of the people’s revolutionary struggle in Yanfeng as well as inscriptions by central and provincial leaders. Two pavilions, each 3 meters in diameter and 4 meters high, stand on either side of the hall.

Xu Chengzhang, originally named Tianzong and styled Huiru, was born in October 1892 into a poor farming family in Changcheng Village, Changfeng Town, Qiongshan County (now part of Haikou City), Hainan Province. His grandfather, Xu Zhengpei, was a private tutor, and his father worked as a laborer in Southeast Asia for many years, barely earning enough to support himself, let alone help the family. The family had six siblings and owned just over one mu of paddy fields. They mainly survived by renting land from landlords and cultivating sweet potatoes on reclaimed hillsides.
