Chonghuanggou Scenic Area in Nasa Town, Fangcheng District. Located along the Nasa Town–Dongshan Highway, the scenic area covers a total area of 1,500 mu. It is about 180 kilometers from the capital city of Nanning and can be reached directly via the Nanning–Beihai Expressway in approximately two hours. The site is 66 kilometers from Fangchenggang City, 45 kilometers from Fangcheng District of Fangchenggang City, and 8 kilometers from the People's Government of Nasa Town, nestled at the southern foot of the Shiwandashan Mountain Range. It receives over 30,000 visitors annually. The Chonghuanggou Scenic Area features winding paths, rocky barriers, hidden caves, clear pools, white waterfalls, cool and pristine water, and lush trees and vines, offering fresh air and serene scenery. At first glance, a clear stream can be seen meandering through the woods. Further up, two waterfalls of different heights display distinct dynamics. The lower waterfall splits as it strikes rocks and flows into the clear stream; the upper one cascades straight down into an emerald pool. With a diameter of about 10 meters, this pool is famously known as the “Imperial Mother’s Bathing Pool.” Legend has it that the water in the emerald pool is sacred, descending from a heavenly mountain and reserved exclusively for the Imperial Mother to bathe in. It is believed to have miraculous effects such as refreshing the body, invigorating the spirit, and keeping the skin fair, tender, and rosy. The water that flows from the pool into the clear stream is also considered divine—the Imperial Mother is said to sometimes bathe in the stream as well, which shares the same magical properties as the pool. Hence the name Chonghuanggou (Imperial Mother’s Valley). Visitors can swim and play in the pool, adding to the joy and delight of the experience. This scenic area was spontaneously built and is independently operated by local residents. It serves as an excellent destination for plant-based eco-tourism, leisure vacations, camping, barbecues, and sightseeing.
