Dapingpo Beach in Fangchenggang

Dapingpo is situated in the middle section of Jiangshan Peninsula, about 7 kilometers from Fangchenggang. It can be reached by both car and boat. Located 6 kilometers southwest of Moon Bay on Jiangshan Peninsula, it is also known as Bailang Beach due to its extremely wide and flat terrain. Bailang Beach spans 1 to 2.8 kilometers in width and 6 kilometers in length. The sand is fine and soft, with a slight blackish hue due to titanium ore content. The ten-kilometer-long beach is as flat as a terrace, stretching endlessly and can accommodate hundreds of thousands of people at once, making it an ideal spot for coastal sports activities. Plans are underway to develop it into the largest coastal sports and entertainment center around the Beibu Gulf.

You won’t know how vast a beach can be until you’ve been to Bailang Beach. Most of the Beibu Gulf coastline features plateaus and hills, but Bailang Beach (Dapingpo) is an extension of the plains. It is an expansive, flat expanse—a vast tidal flat just slightly above sea level, stretching over ten kilometers across the deep blue sea. From afar, the misty waters blur the boundary between sea and sand. In truth, it’s a beach with the sea beside it and the sea within it. No wonder people say that only at Bailang Beach can you truly appreciate the vastness and beauty of a beach. The sand at Bailang Beach has a slight dark hue due to its titanium content.

In 2012, Bailang Beach was rated as a National 4A-level Tourist Attraction and was listed as a key development site for Guangxi’s plan to build a top-tier 5A scenic area. Also in 2012, Jiangshan Peninsula Tourist Resort was honored with the title of “China’s Most Beautiful Leisure and Holiday Destination” by the China Ecotourism Development Association.
