The Jiulongtan Rafting Scenic Area in Fangchenggang City is located at the foot of the Shiwandashan Mountain Range near Naliang Town on the Dongxing Border Highway. The Jiulongtan rafting course stretches 5 kilometers with a total drop of 180 meters, and the rafting duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. The rafting in Dongxing’s Jiulongtan is conducted in stages with controlled water release, and there is a water barrier at the starting point. Rafting sessions are held three times daily, with departure times at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM. The entire course is done in rubber rafts. Since the rafting route has been artificially modified, paddling is not required along the way. The overall rafting experience is quite enjoyable, though you will get completely wet. The rafts used in the scenic area are hollowed out manually, meaning the bottoms are designed to take on water directly. While this makes capsizing less likely, the shallow riverbeds in the Jiulongtan area can easily lead to scraping.

The supporting facilities in the scenic area are relatively complete and well-equipped. Along the route, there are over 10 rapids, more than 20 pools, and over 30 turns. With winding paths and shifting scenery, this section is the most exciting and thrilling part of the initial canyon stretch. The banks feature unique rocks and fruit orchards, and the raft twists and turns as it speeds down, with waves crashing against you, prompting shouts and screams at every moment—making the rapids especially exhilarating. Jiulongtan can accommodate over 300 people for rafting at the same time. Visitors can also enjoy forest exploration, thrilling rafting, the culture of Yao ethnic villages, and farmhouse experiences in the scenic area, immersing themselves in the harmony between humans and nature while having fun and excitement all to themselves.
