The Memorial Tower of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising is a cultural tourism attraction, a classic red tourism site, and a patriotic education base.

In the eastern part of Yulin City, Guangxi, a seven-story memorial tower has been erected. The entire tower is covered in glazed tiles, standing tall and majestic. Each floor of the tower features sculptures depicting the historical scenes of the anti-Japanese armed uprising held in the spring of 1945, where hundreds of thousands of local people from Luchuan, Bobai, Xingye, and Guixian, along with a contingent of over ten thousand troops within Yulin’s jurisdiction, rose in rebellion. These are further accentuated by traditional upturned eaves and bracket sets, showcasing its magnificent and heroic beauty. It is precisely because this tower was built to commemorate this magnificent people’s revolution that it was named the “Memorial Tower of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising.” It stands as a symbol of the nationwide resistance, through which we can catch a glimpse of the dawn and achievements of the anti-Japanese salvation movement. The Memorial Tower of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising, an ordinary and unassuming structure, has stood tall and imposing in the eastern part of Yulin since its completion. Its lofty and upright form, reminiscent of the heroic figures who fought bravely, continues to stand firm in the hearts of the people to this day.

To commemorate the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising, honor the spirits of the martyrs, and educate the public with the revolutionary heroism and patriotism of the martyrs, the Memorial Tower of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising was constructed in March 1992 at Zhuxiang Kou Touling Forest Park, approximately 6 kilometers east of Yulin’s urban area. The main tower is an eight-sided, seven-story pavilion structure, 38 meters high, with exterior glazed tiles. It is fronted by five pavilions and approached by a central axis of 288 steps, presenting a grand and imposing sight. The first floor houses a 2-meter-high, 1.5-meter-wide bronze sculpture depicting the uprising scene; the second floor displays nine images and brief introductions of the sacrificed leaders; the third floor features four diagrams of the People’s Anti-Japanese Self-Defense War, twelve brief introductions of key uprising events, and two charts of the People’s Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Army’s organization.

The Memorial Tower of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising Martyrs was designated as a Patriotic Education Base of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region by the Regional Party Committee and Government in January 1999.
