Nanning Industrial Tourism
Nanning Industrial Tourism
Traditional concepts of tourism do not usually include “industry,” but after “industrial tourism” was officially launched on June 8, 2006, in Xixiangtang District, Nanning, it became a new highlight in the tourism scene.
Most ordinary citizens have little understanding of how the food and goods they use every day are made. The industrial tourism routes introduced by Xixiangtang District can fully satisfy people’s curiosity. Currently, the industrial tourism route includes three sites: Nanning Tsingtao Beer Co., Ltd., Guangxi Huangshi Bioengineering Dairy Industry Co., Ltd., and Nanning Coca-Cola Beverages Co., Ltd. In the near future, other industrial enterprises within the jurisdiction of Xixiangtang District—such as Nanning Cigarette Factory, Chencun Water Plant, as well as pharmaceutical businesses in the Zhongyao area like Baihui, Yixin, Jiuzhoutong, and Wantong, along with industrial clusters such as China Resources Cement and Xingxian Building Materials—may also join the industrial tourism route after integration. Through this form of in-depth tourism, citizens can visit corporate campuses, production lines, tools, raw materials, finished products, and unique manufacturing processes to learn how everyday items are produced. At the same time, companies achieve their goal of self-promotion.
Coca-Cola, milk, and beer are three essential staples of daily life—so how are they actually produced? Now, ordinary residents in our city can find out all about it by participating in “industrial tourism.” Since the launch ceremony of “industrial tourism” in Xixiangtang District, there has been a steady stream of visitors to Nanning Tsingtao Beer Co., Ltd., Guangxi Huangshi Bioengineering Dairy Industry Co., Ltd., and Nanning Coca-Cola Beverages Co., Ltd. The routes to Guangxi Huangshi Bioengineering Dairy Industry Co., Ltd. and Nanning Coca-Cola Beverages Co., Ltd. include specially prepared exhibition halls and factory areas as well as production lines for industrial tourism. The company exhibition halls showcase their own products and histories. In these uniquely designed exhibition spaces, visitors can gain an intuitive understanding of the companies’ growth journeys and product offerings, and also obtain the latest information on their flagship products to guide their daily lives. From the observation corridor, visitors can look down at the production lines where numerous large, advanced machines process raw materials into finished goods, with every step and procedure on full display. But don’t assume that industrial production is just about dull assembly lines—in the Coca-Cola Company Museum, no one can resist the charm of the exquisite small ornaments, toys, and Coca-Cola bottles from different countries and eras displayed in the cabinets; meanwhile, at Guangxi Huangshi Bioengineering Dairy Industry Co., Ltd., the various types of milk on display in the exhibition hall are sure to whet visitors’ appetites.
Xixiangtang District’s “industrial tourism” allows ordinary citizens to understand the production process of industrial goods as well as the culture of the companies involved, achieving the dual goals of satisfying public curiosity and thirst for knowledge while also helping enterprises enhance their brand value. This extensive promotional approach, using corporate museums or exhibition halls as the link and tourism as the catalyst, transforms the general public from mere observers into active participants. The enterprises involved in the industrial tourism routes also experience a significant boost in brand value.
